This memorial is fascinating if not easy to visit.

Blue

When I am walking around narrow streets I remember to look up and there it is : Parisian blue sky!

Clock

Look for this clock next time you are at Galerie Vivienne.
BTW clocks were moved forward in Europe today.

Confiture

I often like to photograph food and to create my own "still life".

I also enjoy taking photos of the food that I bring back from the market.

Le Senat

This is one of those buildings that is not often open to the public but if you can arrange a visit, I would recommend it.
It has a lot of history and anecdotes attached to it.

Montmartre stairs

On a wet and overcast day it is easy to take a photo without too many people on the stairs.

Manège de Montmartre

This is one of my favorite spots in Paris.
Fabric stores are all around here (to the right of this image) but also on many side streets.
On the way to theatre de l'Atelier (rue Orsel) is DAME which sells some of the best buttons in town.
And very few squares are as charming as the one in front of theatre de l'Atelier.

My blue door

When the front door of our building was re-painted, I was hoping we would have a blue door.
No such luck we got a red/burgundy one.
Blue doors are still my favorites however and I tend to photograph every one I encounter.

Le Tour

I was in Paris last summer for the last stage of the Tour de France.
It was amazing to me to see how fast the cyclists were going even though they were doing their 8 final loops around Paris mostly for the pleasure of the spectators. I tried to convey the "fast" impression by shooting this image at a lower speed (camera on speed priority) while making sure that the buildings were in sharp focus.

A wedding celebration

I photographed this couple a few days after their wedding as they wanted to use Montmartre as a backdrop.
It was very relaxed as dress was already stained so Laurence felt comfortable sitting on steps or on the grass, etc.

In a few more weeks...

In a few more weeks Jardin is going to look like this again. I know somebody who proposed there!

I took this photo from the Batobus and made it sepia looking in photoshop.

This image to celebrate my return to Paris !

Back from India

Taking photos in India can be very overwhelming as there is always so much going on and you are constantly visually bombarded with images and colors, shapes and textures. It really is a photographer paradise there and people also enjoy having their photo taken.
One thing I tried to do was "keep it simple" as illustrated in these photos.
I will start a separate blog with photos taken abroad and keep this one for Paris photos.
Hang in there!
It might take a few days...
